About us

The Nandhanar Sevashrama Trust was formed by the socially committed and those aspiring for the social change. The trust is committed to the all-round development of the dalit community in Tamilnadu, India. Tada D Periyasamy, a veteran dalit leader is the founder of Nandhanar Sevashrama Trust.

“Nandhanar Sevashrama Trust” conducts free tuition classes at 60 centers in 2 districts – imparting free education for 2,300 students daily in the evening. 60 part time teachers, 6 supervisors and 2 office staff and 1 driver are involved in this work. Deserving students from Dalit and other backward caste from the most backward-rural areas of Cuddalore, Permbalur are greatly benefited. In every center, monthly parent meetings are organized to get feed back from the parents.

The trust offers free computer training at Thittakkudi in Cuddalore district. Students from rural/remote areas get access to "quality training on latest technologies at free of cost". The computer training center also helps in their placement and self-employment opportunities.

The trust conducts a free tailoring institute for women in Thittakudi at Cuddalore distrcit. The tailoring institute has developed 344 trained tailoring experts so far. In every batch, free tailoring machine is given to deserving widows/women.

The trust organizes Thiruvilakkku Pooja (Group worship) in 24 villages (12 in Cuddalore district and 12 in Perambalur district) of Tamilnadu.

Nandhanar Sevashrama Trust is organises social leaders meet providing a platform for better understanding and positive participation of social leaders of various communities in the social development & Nation-building activities.
